Foam Boards for Automotive Tooling

Description
Product IntroductionHigh density rigid polyurethane (PU) foam material with micro closed cell structure, specially designed for automotive mold manufacturing, prototype development and fixture gauge fabrication.
Product Classification

1. Low density PU Foam: Density range approx. 80–150kg/m³.

Features: Light weight and soft, extremely fast cutting performance with the lowest cost, yet low strength and low surface hardness.

2. Medium density PU Foam: Density range approx. 150–300kg/m³.

Features: Most widely used balanced performance material. It combines favorable strength, hardness and processability; its surface allows fine sanding and painting.

3. High density PU Foam: Density range approx. 300–600 kg/m³ or higher.

Features: High hardness, high strength and excellent dimensional stability. It delivers very dense and smooth machined surfaces with performance close to model board, while featuring lower weight.

Product Advantages

1. Adjustable density for full scenario adaptability:

Low density grade for lightweight core materials; high density grade for high strength master model materials.

2. Dimensional stability to guarantee precision:

Low shrinkage rate and anti-deformation property to sustain accurate mold dimensions over long-term service.

3. Easy to process for complex geometries:

Suitable for sawing, milling and grinding. It yields smooth machined surfaces and enables complex curved surface fabrication for automotive molds.

4. Screw holding capacity improves with density to meet fastening requirements:

High density grade features compact structure and strong screw holding power for secure installation of mold accessories.

5. Robust durability and broad compatibility:

High density grade provides compression resistance and impact resistance. It is also compatible with various modified ingredients to expand application coverage.

Product ApplicationsAccording to performance differences, PU foam boards for automotive molds are applicable to master model tooling for outer body panels and high precision structural parts, interior part mold fabrication, lightweight filling for large-size molds, as well as protective packaging for mold transportation.
